Strategy has always held a certain glamour in the business world. Executives often discuss differentiation, positioning, and long-term visions. But if strategy is the map, execution is the act of actually getting from point A to point B. And in practice, far too many organizations get stuck. Studies consistently show that while most strategies are sound, two-thirds to three-quarters of companies fail to execute them effectively. A recent global survey of CEOs confirmed this reality, revealing that executional excellence ranked as the single greatest challenge they face, even above innovation and growth.
